The Twinery/DiscountCardstock.com: {Blog Hop}

The Introduction:

The Twinery and DiscountCardstock.com Design Teams are joining up today for a fun summer party blog hop!

If you are hopping along with us today: You should have come here from Trudy Sjolander's blog. If you did, you are in the right place! Welcome!

If you are one of my regular readers: Thanks for coming back! I love having you! Please join along in the hop - you can start at The Twinery's blog.

The Details:
As you hop from blog to blog make sure and comment on every post because there will be two winners chosen randomly along the hop.

If you get lost anywhere along the hop (or if someone is having a blog glitch!) a complete list of participants will be posted on The Twinery and DiscountCardstock.com blogs.

This hop will end on 7/13/2011 and winners will be posted on The Twinery and DiscountCardstock.com blogs the following day.

The Prizes:

Colorful Bunch Sampler Pack (a $20 retail value!) from The Twinery:

DiscountCardstock.com will be giving away a paper sampler pack (a $20 retail value!).

The Sponsors:

The Twinery

Our twine is made from 100% cotton, it's eco-friendly and made in the USA. Whether you're gift wrapping, crafting or tying up baked goods to give to a friend, our baker's twine adds a fresh, yet nostalgic look to any project at hand! Our baker's twine comes in 11 delicious colors and is uniquely twisted against a bright white hue, creating an eye-popping burst of color and a creative embellishment! Our twine has lots of color which lends to a fun, candy-striped look.

DiscountCardstock.com

DiscountCardstock.com was launched in 2002 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Our mission is to provide great quality cardstock and specialty papers at discount pricing. We offer 100% acid and lignin free, archival quality uncoated cardstocks, as well as metallic, vellum, hand-made specialty papers, envelopes, scored cards and high qualify art paper and cards that are specially coated and developed for use by professional artists and card makers using ink jet printers.

The Cards:

As you may already know, I am on The Twinery's Design Team, so I've worked with (and loved!) their twine from the very beginning.
You can't go wrong when you choose to use The Twinery's twine!

This was, however, my first experience with DiscountCardstock.com and I must say that their cardstock is fabulous (I especially love the 80# cardstocks).

I started by using the Posh White Linen (80#) and Kraft (80#) cardstock from DiscountCardstock.com to create my card bases.
Each base was then stamped with a background stamp and sentiment.

I then used a circle punch and Sea Blue (65#), Posh Red Pepper Linen (80#), and Gold (65#) cardstock from DiscountCardstock.com to create the beach balls.

I added finishing touches on each of the cards with some Caribbean, Lemondrop, and Maraschino twine from The Twinery.
The Twinery offers the best twine out there and it sure adds a beautiful finishing touch to any project.

Thanks for stopping by today!

If you aren't already a follower, I'd love to have you follow my blog! I am almost to 250 followers and I think that might require a little giveaway...what do you think?

The Next Stop:
Heidi Blankenship's blog

I find that stamping is what brings these cards to their fullest potential, so I am entering them in the Moxie Fab World: Stamp It! challenge.

Cardstock: DiscountCardstock.com (Sea Blue 65#, Posh Red Pepper Linen 80#, Gold 65#, Posh White Linen 80#, Kraft 80#);
