Growing In Unity - Day 2: God's Word Is Sweet (Bible Art & Journaling)

I am back again for day 2 of my week as a Growing In Unity gal!

If you haven't already, please be sure you are following me on Facebook and on Instagram. I'd love to keep in touch with you there.

Today I have a Bible journaling entry to share with you:
Since I was having so much fun doing watercolor on yesterday's card, I decided to give watercolor a try in my Bible. (Note: I did prep my Bible page before doing any watercolor or stamping.) I stamped first, added a wash of watercolor, and then went back in and added some extra tint to the stamped hearts with more watercolor paint. I then added in some hand lettering ("God's word is sweet") using a fine-tipped black pen.

Don't forget to leave a comment to be entered to win stamps from Unity Stamp Company!
(I'll be choosing TWO winners who will each be getting 25 random stamps.)

Thanks for stopping by today!
Find all my posts pertaining to Bible art or journaling here.

I haven't gotten up the courage to watercolor in my special Bible. I am worried that the pages will ripple. I need to find out how to prep it well before I watercolor.
I like how you added all of the color. It is beautiful. I am going to, once I get up the courage, take my time and make the artwork very meaningful. Thank you for the inspiration.

Thanks for the wonderful idea. I don't Bible journal in an actual Bible but in a book that I do my other art journaling in. Easier for me. I will definitely be using this idea. Thanks

I love the Bible Journaling. I'm still to freaked out to this in my Bible. What if I mess up? It's not like you can rip out a page and not miss it.

Wow! I like the look of Bible journaling. Bible pages are so thin though. What did you use to prep it? What stamp set did you use?

I saw the supply list after I posted :)

Good catch! I always try my best to list my supplies (with links) at the end of each post.

The mistakes are part of the process - nobody is perfect.
But...there are also lots of ways to cover the mistakes 😉 - paint, washi tape, stickers, etc.

This was my first time trying watercolor in my Bible and I was nervous, too.
I prepped my page first (link to what I use is in the supply list at the very end of the post) and kept my heat gun on hand to dry it quickly between layers. I don't think the heat tool was necessary, but it did help speed up the process.
