Growing In Unity - Day 3: Shaker Card

I am back again for day 3 of my week as a Growing In Unity gal!

If you haven't already, please be sure you are following me on Facebook and on Instagram. I'd love to keep in touch with you there.

I thought it would be fun to create a shaker card for today's post...so I did!
I heat embossed the floral image from the Blossomy Condolences stamp set using black embossing powder on clear film. I then added some doodling around the die cut window. I layered that over some patterned paper, enclosing some sequins into the shaker portion of the card. A sentiment can be stamped inside to fit the occasion whenever I am ready for it.

Be sure to leave a comment on each of my Growing In Unity posts for the week to be entered to win 25 random stamps from Unity Stamp Company!
(I'll choose TWO winners when the week is over.)

Thanks for stopping by today!

The Twinery is giving away 4 fabulous spools of twine - perfect for fall projects:

The Projects:
In my neck of the woods, we seem to have gone swiftly through fall and straight on to winter, but I still enjoyed creating a couple of fall cards for today's hop.
I've been having fun with watercolor paints recently and decided to give it a go on this Fall Greetings card:
After I added the stamped/watercolor flower panel and stamped the sentiment, I finished off my card with some of The Twinery's Solid Cappuccino twine.

The second card I created is simple - just a bit of embossing, a little stamping, and some twine:
For this card, I kept the palette very simple by finishing it off with some of The Twinery's Solid Honeydew twine
The Twinery's twine is the perfect accent for cards - it ties everything together perfectly. (Literally.)

Thanks for stopping by today!

Celebrate BIG & Warm Wishes {Craftwell Guest Designer}

{I am today's Guest Designer for Craftwell - check it out!}
I am so excited to be a Guest Designer for Craftwell today!

Craftwell sent me the Love Triangles embossing folder to work with (from the Teresa Collins Collection) and I had so much fun with it! I created two cards to share with you today:
Both cards used the embossing folder in the same way (I used it to emboss vellum for an overlay), but the results for the cards are very different. I wanted to go bright and fun with the Celebrate BIG card, but keep it warm and cozy with the Warm Wishes card.
The embossed vellum overlay on the Celebrate BIG card is placed over a background that I created using watercolor paints. I punched out a portion of the vellum to highlight the sentiment, then I wrapped the card with twine and added some enamel dot "confetti" to finish it off.
The Warm Wishes card makes me think of a snowy day, sitting in the warm house and drinking some hot chocolate. It is a simple, neutral color palette, but the embossing adds some great texture.
Thanks for visiting today - have a great day!

BIG and small {Growing In Unity: Day 3}

Welcome to day 3 of my week as the Growing In Unity gal!

Stay tuned each day this week as I show you something I've created using stamps from Unity Stamp Company...and be sure to comment on all five of my Growing In Unity posts this week if you want a chance to win some free stamps!

If you are new here or aren't already a follower: I'd love to have you follow my blog!
If you are one of my regular readers: Thanks for coming back! I love having you!

I've got two projects to share with you today. The first is this tag created with Celebrate BIG and Grandma's Doilies:
I started by cutting two tags from white cardstock, one large and one small. I stamped Grandma's Doilies on the large tag and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. Once the embossing was set I misted over it with two colors of mist and then wiped off to reveal the resist. I then layered the smaller tag on top which I stamped with my Celebrate BIG sentiment. I used an eyelet and twine to adhere them together.

Next up is a small card.
(It is approximately 2 1/2" x 3".)
The card base is created using the zebra frame from the {aBIT} of Insta-Frames kit that I created. I cut out the center picture-portion of the frame and added some vellum. I then stamped the hearts from the Jars of Love x 3 on the vellum. I love making mini cards, and the Insta-Frames are perfect for that.

Thanks for stopping by today - and don't forget to leave a comment so you can win some stampy goodness!

And, of course, I'd love it if you sign up to be a follower!

At the end of the week I will randomly choose someone to win any two Itty Bittys (winner's choice!) from Unity Stamp Company - to be sent to a domestic address only, please.

Winter Wishes

This card was created using a few different Unity stamps.
The sentiment was included with one of last year's issues of Paper Crafts magazine. The ornament was one that I received as a bonus free stamp with a Unity order - so I am not quite sure which set it comes from. The background is called Worn Grid.

I did embossing with white embossing powder on all the stamped images and I love the look it gives on kraft cardstock.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Cardstock: Georgia Pacific (White); The Paper Company (Kraft);
Stamps: Unity (Ornament, Sentiment, Worn Grid);

Embossing Powder: Hero Arts (White);
Twine: The Twinery (Blossom, Honeydew);
