Bottle Cap Necklace Tutorial

Today I am going to show you how to make a necklace from some great supplies from Kraft Outlet (and a couple other things you most likely already have in your craft stash).

First, let's gather our supplies:
Kraft Outlet's Bottle Caps
Kraft Outlet's Twill Tying Tape
Kraft Outlet's Baker's Twine
Kraft Outlet's 1" Round Brown Kraft Labels

Using supplies from Kraft Outlet you can make these necklaces for under 50 cents each!

You will also want to have on hand:
Small Stamp (mine is from Odd Bird Planet)
Pigment Ink Pad (mine is from Rubber Stampede)

And a Fiskars Craft Drill makes this project so easy!

Using your Fiskars Craft Drill and the smallest drill bit, drill a hole in the side of the bottle cap. Be sure that you are drilling on something that is there solely to protect anything underneath it. It IS a drill and can (and will) go through whatever is under it if you aren't careful.

Stamp your image onto the round kraft labels. I recommend stamping a couple images so that you get a nice clean one and have multiple images to work with (just incase you smudge one with your finger...which I did).

Remove your preferred image from the label sheet and place on top of the bottle cap.

{Be sure to center the top of your image with the hole you drilled so that your image will be upright.}

Loop your ribbon through the drilled hole, and thread through. Try to keep the loose ends even (or trim to make them even).

Tip: I used ribbon embroidery needles to make it easy to thread the twill tying tape through the hole. To get the tying tape through the eye of the needle I wrapped one end with a piece of tape and cut it to have a nice clean end to insert into the needle.

Pull the loop tight and you can wear your necklace as it is...

...or you can add a fun twine accent to add a little flair.

Enjoy your new necklace!

I left the ends long so that I can tie it up as a shorter necklace or wear it longer, depending on how I feel that day.

Thanks for stopping by!

Please let me know what you think - and if you make a necklace of your own, please leave me a link to your picture in your comment.
I'd love to see what you create!
