Ink Blot Shop & The Daily Marker {Blog Hop}

Welcome!
The Daily Marker is bringing
all sorts of great companies
(including Ink Blot Shop
together for a wonderful blog hop today!
(Bonus: there are giveaways!)

For those of you who may not know me or my company, my name is Tifany and I own Ink Blot Shop. I design clear stamps (made in the USA) for card making, Bible art journaling, bullet journaling, and more.
If you aren't already following Ink Blot Shop, please be sure to follow along on the @InkBlotShop Instagram account and the Ink Blot Shop Facebook page.

The Project:
The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge is all about getting a little bit of coloring in every day (even if it's only 5 minutes). And if you haven't been able to color each day? Don't let that stop you!
You are not alone.
I haven't colored every day either...but I am doing my best to get it in when I can. I am so glad Kathy started this challenge - it has been good for me to realize that even a little bit of creativity is worth it. And, please - don't feel like you always need to create a whole card or project to have accomplished something.

I've tried to participate in several of Kathy's coloring challenges now (I say tried, because I am in no way getting a perfect attendance award), and I wanted to have a personal goal to help motivate me this round. I had two ideas: building up a little stash of decorated envelopes, and getting some quick note cards (flat, a little bigger than business card size) together so I have something handy for when I would like to write a note to a customer. In order to accomplish my goal, I spent a chunk of time one day just stamping out some pieces so I had a stash ready to color.

Today I wanted to share what I did with some of the stamped envelopes. (The stamps are from my Envelope Mail Art stamp set.) Most of my coloring on these is done using some Tombow markers and a little bit of water on a paintbrush. Since I had the envelopes pre-stamped and the coloring supplies were out, it was easy to watercolor several envelopes at once.
And while I was waiting for the watercolored envelopes to dry, I colored a few more envelopes (particularly the kraft envelopes) with colored pencils.
I don't often have time to create a card and/or envelope right when I need it, so having a little stash ready to pull from is really going to help me out.

I encourage you to play along in this month's coloring challenge...and don't forget to use #thedailymarker30day when sharing on your social media accounts.

Your envelope art is darling!! Such cute ways to jazz up the envelope! Thanks for the giveaway! I have colored 10 days out of the 15. I hope to make it `11 before the day is out! My baby's 18th birthday has kept me hopping and out of the art room!

OMG what a great stamp set. It is a MUST have. so clever

Having the envelopes ready for whenever you need
them is a fantastic idea. Going to put it into
practice next time I'm stamping. I have a
birthday and a card but not enough time to do
a lot with the envelope (I'm a procrastinator).
Having them ready would be a big step forward.
thanks for the idea. I'd love to have
your stamp set for my envelopes.

I adore people who take the time to "beautify" the envelope and the fact that you sell stamps to help - well, you just made my day!

Annalisa said...

Oh wow, what an amazing set! I haven't seen this one before, but I think I'm in love! I love decorating envelopes and trying to make them special, but sometimes I run low on ideas, so this is a perfect set to help get over the hump. And I completely agree: pre-stamping is the way to go. There were nights previously when I would sit down and literally think "I have nothing to color!" despite the mass of stamps I own, just because I didn't feel like stamping everything out and THEN coloring. Anyway, thank you for sharing, for your candor, and for supporting Kathy and the challenge. I love this generous crafty community.

I was drooling over that Envelope Art set before I even finished your post and saw that you are kind enough to make it a giveaway.....woohoo! ❤
Not being all that computer savvy, why can we not "sign up" to get your blog posts via email? Or did I miss that portion (I currently have a severe concussion and I'm supposed to be on "Brain Rest".....no computer, no reading, no TV, no artwork, blah, blah, blah for another 10 days!) I will probably resemble the village idiot by that point!!!
