Patchwork Card Step-by-Step {A Walk Down Memory Lane}

{As seen today on the A Walk Down Memory Lane blog}

Today we will be creating a patchwork card, like this:

Let's start with our supplies:
-Patterned paper
-A2 card base
-Paper trimmer
-Pen or marker

Step 1:
Cut rectangles from 4 different patterns of paper:
Pattern 1: 1 1/2" x 2 1/2" and 1" x 1 3/4"
Pattern 2: 2 1/2" x 2"
Pattern 3: 1 1/2" x 2 3/4"
Pattern 4: 2 1/2" x 1 1/2" and 1 1/2" x 1 3/4"

Step 2:
Assemble the pieces as shown:

(Assembled you will have a rectangle 4" x 5 1/4" - this will create the look of a mat when adhered to a standard A2 sized card front.)
Tip: I find it easiest to adhere these to a 3 3/4" x 5" scrap of printer paper to hold them together as one piece.

Step 3:
Adhere patchwork pieces to card front.

Step 4:
Use the Rich Cocoa Dual Marker to create faux stitching.

Step 5:
Add your desired embellishment (I've added a paper bow), and enjoy your new patchwork card!
