The Project:
This is a very simple (& quick!) project that can be customized in many ways - perfect for one-of-a-kind handmade holiday gifts!
Step One:
Take a bottle cap and create a hole. (You can get new bottle caps or re-purpose a bottle cap from a drink you've enjoyed.)
{I prefer to use either a Fiskars Craft Drill or a Crop-A-Dile Big Bite for this step.}
Step Two:
Take a circle squeeze punch and punch out your Free Bird Series patterned paper from Authentique Paper.
{The Fiskars Round N Round Squeeze Punch in Medium is what I used to punch the Blush patterned papers.}
The papers from Authentique Paper are great for these necklaces because they add a beautiful layer of texture.
{And with all the colors and patterns in the Free Bird Series you will be able to find something that suits everyone on your list.}
Step Three:
Add embellishments to your punched circles.
I've created some tiny rolled roses from the Free Bird Series Blush papers and I've also used some pre-made embellishments like pearls and a resin flower.
You can also add charms or even a tiny photo.
Let your imagination go wild!
Step Four:
Add a ribbon, twine, or anything you want to use as the necklace.
Step Five:
Adhere your finished circle into your bottle cap.
{Use something like Glossy Accents for a very strong hold.}
{Just a note: If you would like to make your necklaces weather-proof you will need to cover the inserts with something like Glossy Accents.}
My daughter was my model for these necklaces and she's already claimed one of them and is trying to get me to give her the rest...so be sure to make extras for your daughters to enjoy!
Cheers to creating gifts from the heart this holiday season!
